"I just bought a 1991 Galaxy 18.6ft center console. It has an aq125 ??? engine with a 290 penta outdrive.
My question is many. I can get the boat to start but, it will idle for 1-2 minutes max at {by the gauge installed} at 3000rpm then i try to advance the throttle, I can see the fuel going in the engine through the center pin in the carb, LOTS of fuel, then it dies.
I have : set the points, cleaned the plugs, checked the firing order, and now have it sucking out of a gas can 87octane, set the #1 cylender at tdc and aligned the distributor. it Idles really ruff. one more thing, what is the car engine name for this engine.
