Motor will fire up and idle fine. Give it throttle and it response is normal. When you try to get on plane it struggles and will max out at 3100 rpm's. Therefore it never gets on plane. You back it down to idle it is fine. You try to get on plane it does the same thing.
Any thoughts?
 
What trouble shooting has been done if any ?-----Stop trying to run it as a plugged carburetor will starve a cylinder of fuel.-----That means OIL as well !------Have you checked for water in the fuel ?-----Checked for warped carburetor bowls ?----Shift switch ?

Excellent advice...figure out what's wrong don't risk trashing your motor if your don't know what's wrong. OP should listen and don't learn the hard way.
