on the parts diagrahm my lower unit has slots on each side towards the back. looks like a place for water to exit. The lower unit on my engine has 2 rectangular holes in the same place. looks like zinks should go there. when the engine runs warm water squirts out the shift shaft hole constantly. Is this the wrong lower unit and will this hurt anything. it all seems to run ok. 1988 80 hp 3 cylinder Mercury. Thanks Ser # OB37179? cant read last number
