1988 Johnson GT 175 Carb Issue

My three carbs have the plastic float bowls. All three of them are warped. When installed new bowl gaskets they still leaked. I tried sanding down the corners to level them out as best I could but they still all leak. I am not a fan of using gasket sealant on carbs but I'm not sure what else to do. The plastic bowls are no longer available for these carbs, at least not that I can find. The only available bowls are metal and $150 each. I don't want to spend $450 to solve this problem. Thoughts anyone? I am thinking of using double gaskets and fuel resistant permatex but I'm not sure that will actually work.
