1988 Evinrude 90HP VRO Conversion

Hello all. I am the new owner of a 1988 evinrude 90hp. I have removed the vro pump, that had been "deleted" by the previous owner, and installed a pre-mix type setup. My question is, is it possible to keep the warning horn after doing this? To be honest, I don't know if it's currently working or not. I had assumed maybe it would chirp at start to indicate that it was. Is this the case or is there anyway to test it? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Find the tan wire on the cylinder head.----Slide the rubber sleeve back to expose the metal connector.-----Turn ignition to --" on "---and touch the metal connector to a head bolt or ground.------ Horn should sound.
