1988 bayliner inboard. Will crank but not start.

We are trying to get are boat ready to take out on the water but it does not seem like it wants to fire up. it will crank and crank but not start. not sure why so if anyone has any suggestions that would help.

Which engine? It can be either fuel or spark; impossible to know without further troubleshooting. At least the engine spins...good that!

Better get a service manual and start reading that. Takes three things to make an engine run. Spark, Fuel and Compression. Better start checking !!
