The answered your post once before, but it must have erased itself when I hit submit. So here goes again...I hope this one takes.

I assume you have at least taken it off the motor and removed the four screws that hold it together. If you have the new diaphram, you will see that on the end of the "rod" that is attached to the diaphram, there is a "T". That "T" slides down the slot in the piston. You will probably have to give it some pressure when it gets to the bottom to turn the "rod" and diaphram 90 degrees. The "T" is then locked in the piston.

To take it out, you will just do the reverse. Put pressure on the diaphram and turn it 90 degrees. It should come right out unless you have a lot of corrosion, etc.
