1986 9.9hp ft water in lower end

I have an '86 9.9ft with some water mixed in the lower gear case.
Is the water a concern while operating?
What are the possible leak sources?

Yes, it needs to be fixed. Bad gaskets on the drain and vent plugs or worst case a re-seal job for the lower unit.

pressure vacuum test and find out where

only 5 seals

ordered the seals and an impeller kit
will do a pressure test

Got the pump kit but lower seal kit is still on b/o from Japan...still getting water in lower gear case...getting well into fishing season....any ideas to get back on the water?
