I purchased the boat fall of last year and have only had it out a few times. I have noticed that it is very difficult to get it out of the hole. When I give it full throttle everything sounds good and feels good but it seems to take forever to get it to plane off. Once it reaches plane it's fine. Wondering if the engine is just lacking power at FT. If so what should I do to repair????

Appreciate any advicce you can give!

Welcome aboard:

So you slam the throttle fully down all the time and run balls out all day ?

On a 85' motor.

Ok what is wot ? We will talk speed latter.

No I don't run WOT all day! The boat is used mostly on large lakes so to get from one place to the other its required to get the boat to plane off rather than just putt putt from point A to B. I'm sorry that I tried this thread, I thought I would receive advice from experienced boaters not just pond puddlers.

Engine compression may be low. It may have the wrong prop or the floatation foam is waterlogged adding alot of extra weight. No need to cop an attitude; we're all here to help.
