Hi all: New to forum: I have a 1984 Yamaha 25 hp SN ,tiller, manual start outboard with no spark. Had been having issues last fall when running full throttle, and motor jerked every 10 seconds or so like it was starving for fuel. Redid carb, new gas tank, hose. Started fine, ran full throttle, but still jerking.
Last fall ran down river 3 miles, and slowed down, and motor died, would not start. Pulled back to truck. Trailered, No spark! Have put ohm meter on brown and black wires that go to ignition coil (stator) under flywheel. 0.13....Took flywheel off yesterday, and white gooey material on stator and some on magnets. Should I replace stator and pulsar coil, or does anyone have any idea what is my problem.
