1983 force 85 impelleroil injected

"recently purchased a cheepo b

"recently purchased a cheepo bayliner with an 1983 force 85. Fires and seems to run well. Previous owner mixed oil into the gas. Does anyone know if these were injected? Worth correcting if they were?
Also, it appears the impeller is no good. How do i access it? i just ordered a new one.

"Dan, 50:1 mix should be normal.
Several repair manuals are available out there under 30 bucks. If your going to pull that lower unit you really should have one B4 you tear into it."

"Thanks much. He was running a bit richer then that and it was pretty smoky. Great advice on a manual. I'll do that. I don't really have any idea how deep the impeller is. It doesn't draw much water though so I'm assuming/hoping it's an old dried out impeller.I'll let you know how it went.
