1979 25 hp evinrude lower unit interchang years

I have a 1979 25 hp evinrude model #25904r with a bad lower unit and was wondering what years will interchange with it.

Is this a split case??They were used for a lot of years.Were you will run into trouble is the splines on the drive shaft. You may be able to switch out the shafts.After you remove the water pump it should pull out.If we are talking about the same kind of LU.

I am trying to get a driveshaft used for a 1982 25.The match years are 1979 to 1982.That driveshaft has 19 splines to the pinion and 14 to the engine.from what I am finding out, just those 4 years can interchange,without significant modification.
