1979 100HP 2 stroke, black tar around spark plugs on used motor

1979 100HP 2 stroke has black tar around spark plugs. It seems to run ok but is getting a bit sluggish. Did a previous owner have the spark plugs loose? Or what do you think caused this?

Looks like someone sprayed Flexseal on some old arcing wires

Sluggish ?----Post the results of a compression test here.---Hopefully you ger around 120 PSI,

If you pick at it, it comes right off. Its a bit more sticky around the bottom spark plugs. Faztbullet, you figure those plug wires may need to be replaced? I can't figure out what someone was doing here.

They were doing some trouble shooting by spraying " mechanic in a can " on the plug wires.-----Perhaps they got a shock off the wires.----Do yourself a favor and post the compression values. on this 40 + year old motor.

bottom right = 88 psi
top left = 93psi
bottom left = 89psi

Test with another gauge or take a cylinder head off for inspection.
