1978 Chrysler outboard 456H8J 45 HP running rough / makes knocking sounds

Hi,

I overhauled my outboard nearly complete, means:

> checked compression, both app. 8 bar / 116 psi
> changed both contact breakers, condensers, spark plugs . Set the point of ignition on 32° before tdc. Ignition spark looks good.
> Changed all carburetor gaskets and checked all settings

But: It´s running rough, mostly at low speed / drive and the engine makes knocking sounds:

Any idea´s about reason and solution ?

Did you clean points with alcohol before install

No, but i had the same problem with the old points !

How well did you clean the carb? That looks like a lean condition and fuel related.
