1978 200 Thunderbolt 20HP

Day one of my new forum membership...
I have a 20HP that has been pretty good over the years but the impeller is old and probably shot.
How many different varieties of impeller kits are available for these 1978 motors?
Where is the serial number?
I'm doing some service to this motor before I get my "new to me" boat in a month.
I'm fairly handy with ATV etc. but haven't tackled outboards much.

Just order the factory impeller.-----There are those who insist on a complete kit.-----A shop uses that to save time at the parts counter for their techs.-----A DIY only needs an impeller 99 out of 100 times.------Look above transom clamps for the serial #
 
Thanks for the reply. I finally tore into the lower unit. Is it normal that the tube on top of the impeller housing is a foot long piece of copper tube? I'm only seeing 4" rubber tubes on most kits. Is this because it's a long shaft? does that tube go into a boot at the top of the shaft? Thanks
