1977 Johnson 85hp

I just purchased a 1977 Johnson 85hp mounted on a 1986 Party Barge. The Model No. is 85EL77S - can someone tell me what the difference is between a 85EL77 and a 85EL77"S"? I am having difficulty ordering the right parts online and hope this help clear some of the confusion for me.

I am also looking for a remote control for this engine if anyone has one or can tell me where I might find one. Thanks!!

There is no significance to the S for the average consumer !-----Used controls should be available in many locations as the same controls with a red plug fit from 1973 to 1995 models !!

my 85EL77S has no spark, at least not enough to start it, lots of fuel, can flood it easy. What can you suggest?

Charge the battery.----Load test the battery.------Take starter apart for cleaning / inspection / ohm test / perhaps new brushes.
