1977 GM 4 cyl 120hp OMC sterndrive block replacement!

Hello thanks for viewing my post.
I need to replace the block on this boat I have acquired.
I believe it has a 2.5L iron duke engine.
I could use some advice frome someone with much more knowledge than I. My concern is can i replace the block with one that I pull from a car at the junk yard? And then just ad all the external marine parts to it .
Will this work?
I could really use some feedback please thanks

Ayuh,.... Unfortunately, yer 2.5l Ain't the Iron Duke, but just a cousin, that don't use the same bolt holes,....

The 2.5l in yer boat ain't been used in a car since 1965 or so,....

Ya need a 2.5l motor from a boat, or a 3.0l from a boat,.....
