1977 55 HP Evinrude. Bad cdi box???

Motor runs on just 1 cylinder, new plugs, replaced 1 coil, Rebuilt both carbs, both plugs getting fuel. Both plugs have spark. Compression. 145. 149.pull plug wire off top cylinder motor dies. Pull wire off bottom plug motor keeps running. No change in sound of motor. Whats my mext move? Is my cdi box bad?

Does spark jump a gap of at least 3/8" on both leads?-----Or perhaps a reed valve issue.

Replace powerpack / cdi unit.----Fixes this 9 out of 10 times.----Cheap too.

Yeph, had a 1984 9.9 2 stroke, borrowed Cdi and put on the 55 , fired right up ran on both cylinders, thanks racerone
