1973 Johnson 25hp Running hot!

I got a 25hp 73johnson put a new water pump kit ,taken the thermostat out changed headgasket and head. Its pumping water but after running in the tank for 5min its boiling hot!Any idea how to cure this, when I changed the impellar the was piece clogged in the housing you think it may have gotten some in the inlet tube if do how can I clean it out.

With the cover off the thermostat do you get lots of flow out of there?----------Factory replacement parts ?----------------You have to find the pieces if vanes were broken off.

I haven't tryed it with theromstat cover off yet . Where should I start looking for the broken fan

The water pump kit was a factory replacement as far as the gaskets I'm not sure the head come off a parts motor a buddy of mine had
