1967 Mercury 500 50hp No Spark

Thank you all I tried everything I could last night with no spark, tossed and turned all night and the. took it all apart but it back together focusing on each and every connection the morning and now I got a big fat, healthy spark!

Quicksilver was right. It was probably grounded.

Now i need to back and test the old condenser and coil to see what the original problem was. Because I can’t leave well enough alone.

When you put it together make sure that the rotor shaft is centered in the hole in the red cover, I used a drill that fit and put it 180* on either side then tightened up the bolts. Put a few drops or smear of Permatex gasket maker on the shaft to hold the rotor from dropping.

Gotcha. Thanks.
