1967 Johnson 6 hp torque specifications

Hi:

I'm planning to re-ring and hone the cylinders in my 6 hp Johnson and wondering what the torque specifications are for the head bolts, rod caps, and crankcase.

Downloaded a repair manual on the internet, and the section on torque specs was missing.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

It usually listed in those manuals where it's at the part you're installing the piston and rod assembly.... the very last thing it'll say is to torque the rod as listed in "Section 5" or some such section.

However..........

C/Rod ................ 5 to 5.5 inch pounds
Crankcase .......... 5 to 7 inch pounds
Head ................. 7 to 7 inch pounds
Flywheel nut ....... 40 to 45 foot pounds

Swampy.... Disregard my quoted bolt torque quotes above as they incorrect. Here are the correct torque values.

C/Rod ................ 5 to 5.5 foot pounds ------ 60 to 66 inch pounds
Crankcase .......... 5 to 7 foot pounds -------- 60 to 84 inch pounds
Head ................. 5 to 7 foot pounds -------- 60 to 84 inch pounds
Flywheel nut ....... 40 to 45 foot pounds

Joe, I've had a bunch of health issues myself this last year and I know what it's like. Some times your mind just doesn't work right. Take care Buddy !!

Thanks much - the first values posted were not much more than finger tight, but I didn't want to act like a smart-ass newby, so was waiting for the correct answer.

Thanks again - your help is much appreciated....
