I now have had this in water little over a year. I went to take off prop for inspection and noticed there was NO Thrust washer. Well I did get one of course but wanted to know what actually it does. Does it keep down vibration or what??

Second: I have been having what seems to be sputtering or shuttering but only at mid range throttle on and off.

Third: How much play can there be in the prop shaft as well if any.

Hey it's electric shift transmission and i'm still impressed by it working so well

#1 Thrust washer prevents prop from spinning off the shaft if cushion hub fails.

#2 Has anybody been messing with vacuum cut-out switch wiring?

Nope not messed with cutoff wiring switch but i'll check it out. It was re taped due to age and cracking long time back

The electric shift is very good and reliable.----Make sure that no water gets in the gearcase.-----Make sure that generator is working properly.-----Check for strong spark , jumps a 1/4" or more.
