1960 something 3hp seahorse

my father in law gave a 3hp seahorse,info. plate is missing, he says it is a '63 but have no proof,in trying to get it running have found that the low speed neeedle valve is warped in the middle and the tip is worn/damaged.....my question is will a low speed needle for a '68 model work or not?

The part numbers are not the same but this would be due to the fact that the knob end of the needle valve is different.

The picture of the two needle valves look identical (threads, length, point, etc).

I'd say try it.

probably will try it, might even order the '68knob with it.....just spent 4 days scouring the internet for a '63 needle valve havent had any luck, did however find carbs that would match up on ebay....but that was gonna b option
