15hp Mercury 4-stroke - start problem

Have a 2010 Mercury 4 stroke 15HP with electric start. Having difficulties that it is stops when at idle and can only get it to start if I increase load when turning the key. Have tried several repairs without solving the issue


  • Changed spark plugs
  • Changed all fuel hoses and fuel filter
  • Changed to a new carburettor. It started perfectly when starting after, running smoothly at idle but after stopping the engine and starting it after an hour the same issue occurred.
  • It was running fine at idle after I removed the fuel hose from the carburettor and removed the air from the system. Lasted about 10 seconds before it stopped.

The only thing that is not changed is the fuel pump. Starting to get a little frustrated and out of ideas. Anyone with an idea what the issue could be?
 
Additionally, pumping fuel through the line it will leak from the air inlet. Should think the floater within the carburettor should avoid this. Can it be that the engine get too much fuel?
