So I picked up a motor that hasn't been started for 3 years.
Owner told me the stater solenoid was bad.

Took it home. Gave it gas and attached battery. Using a screwdriver to short the solenoid I was able to start the motor. Ran but kind of rough and fuel was coming out from top of carb.

Replaced fuel lines and filter.
Rebuilt carb w Mercury rebuild kit.

Now motor will crank but not start.
Checked spark and there is spark. But it's not a huge blue spark like on a car.

Whats the order of the spark plugs?
Right now I have the wire closer to the plugs going to the top plug.

Any other suggestions?

Needs to be blue and loud snapping spark. Check/clean all grounds for ignition parts and test again.

I'll check and clean all the grounds.
Ill get new plugs while I'm at it. It currently has champions but ill replace w recommended ngk.

Sprayed parts wash into intake and it started right up.
PICK must've did something wrong w carb.
I did noticed the needle did not slide on the float like the original one did.
But then again it's probably the sliding that made the fuel spill out from the top of the carb.
Old needle look new tho. Float looks old.

I wouldn't recommend using any type of starter fluid/parts wash on a two stroke engine. It pretty much removes all the protective oil on internal parts...and an engine without oil is no good.

Fill a spray bottle with fuel/oil mix and use that to spray in the carbs if necessary.
