AQ125A with dual AQ151 carbs?

I'm looking for some easy bolt on performance gains for my AQ125a. I know the dual solex manifold and carbs from the AQ151 should bolt straight up (and use more fuel) but I wanted to know if anyone has done this before and what type of gains have you gotten?

Then u have to ask is it worth while to go through the trouble and expense. Those 125a's weren't exactly speed machines anyway. Mine does about 35 wot and 25-30 cruise. Otherwise i believe there similar blocks, you have to check up and see to make sure they will mate up.

I also hear people converting the 125a to a double barrel carb, not sure what the outcome was though

Theoretically, you could increase the HP from 110 to 125, as you basically would convert an AQ125A into an AQ140A with downdraft carbs instead of with sidedrafts. However, to get the additional power, you would also have to change the cam (replace your current "A" with a "V") and perhaps also install an oil cooler.

Maybe installing a Weber kit will get you better results.

I haven't done it myself by I have read of a few forum members who did it and are happy with the results. If you install the above kit, you may still want to install a V or a K cam. And if the oil pressure decreases due to temperature, you may have to either install an oil cooler or use somewhat thicker oil.

I didn't know that even existed. I'll look into it, but I have a hard time believing that a dual throat weber will improve fuel economy...

Then again, megasquirt is always an option.

I too mentioned time ago that a claim of improving fuel economy AND increasing HP at the same time sounds too good to be true . Again, I haven't tried that setup myself, but as I said some people who have tried appear to be satisfied. :D
