I have a 1988 70hp evinrude 3

I have a 1988 70hp evinrude 3 cyclinder that the #2 cyclinder is scared. I am sure there is no quick fix and dont want to get carried to the cleaners on this one. Approx what is the cost of this type rebuild. Thanks Don

"Etbass.... If that cylinder is scored beyond .040, it will require resleeving which in itself is approximately $200. But normally, going by experience, the usual cost of an overhaul for a three cylinder such as yours (1988 70hp) would run in the area of approximately $1500. This would include complete dismantling, a accurate estimate before repairs, reboring the cylinder, new parts as needed, rebuilding all of the carbs, installing a new water pump assy, test run, final adjustments, etc.

Keep in mind that I am going by "My Experiences" and that others may disagree with me. Curious as to what area you may be in. Central Florida here.
