Why didn't Evinrude put a

Why didn't Evinrude put a more durable ID tag on the bracket ? Mine lost the ink in the boxs befor I acquired the boat. The core plug has G2268772 stamped in it. I have been told by an Evinrude dealer in my area that it was a TE60TLCE but would like a second opinion on that. I know it is a 60hp long shaft with power tilt and trim. Can someone tell me that this is the correct model number and explain the terminology again ? Especially the how the CE denotes a 1989 year.
