making more hp on a 9.9

Hi I was wodering what can I do to get more hp outnof a bf9.9 (porting intake,bigger exhaust or put in a br 15 carb and muffler), what type of mod you guys think I will be to gaing more hp thanks
 
The short answer is:

Buy a bigger outboard.

Honda twins are really great outboards but do not lend themselves as good "hotrod" candidates. Adding a larger carb will PROBABLY result in more fuel consumption and poor idle with spark plug fouling and carbon build-up on pistons and valves.

If you do go bigger, I recommend skipping the 15 and getting the 20 hp.

That's my opinion anyway.

I'm with the get a bigger motor line of thought. There's no walking home from the middle of a lake. Porting and/or modifying the exhaust in any way is far more likely to COST you power than make you anything even noticeable.
