" I have an 1990 Envirude 140. I always use OMC 2 cycle oil. Is there something else I should be adding at regular intervals to help with carbon build up?
I have read many post regarding Yamaha and somthing called ring-free. Is this something I could get elsewhere besides a dealer?
If not is there something else that I could use that is avaliable at NAPA or a Wal-mart, West Marine... "

" I use a product called Sea F

" I use a product called Sea Foam, it comes in a 16 oz. white & red can. NAPA handles it in my area. It's for auto & marine use and is an excellent gas additive.
* injector cleaner
* carb. cleaner
* carbon cleaner
* fuel stabilizer
* de-icer anti gel
* upper cylinder lube
* frees lifters - rings
* dries oil & fuel
I learned about it on another web site. Everyone said it really help keep their outboards running & starting good in the cold conditions we duck hunters face in the winter. They called it "mechanic-in-a-can"! "

" OMC Carbon Guard is what is

" OMC Carbon Guard is what is recomended for Johnson/Evinrude motors to reduce carbon buildup. I use it on my 9.9 Johnson and I don't know if it helps or not, but it sure hasn't hurt anything. Maybe Joe or someone else who knows a lot about OMC motors could weigh in with their .02. "
