Carb issue..

Okay, here is the deal... I have been slaving on this boat for a while now.
I got it running out of the water so today i took it to the lake..
Put her in.. choked and it started and idled pretty well..
i put it gear and it dies. a few times.. let it warm up a bit more...

If i put it in gear at MINIMUM throttle it will go.. it will die after a short time but i managed to get 200 yards to a fishing spot..
we go to leave.. and i take off at low throttle..
I think to my self.. try holding in the choke..
I do and it revs up a bit and speeds up with out stalling..
GREAT i think.. i push the throttle forward and it dies..
So i try again,, but this time keep the choke in as i accelerate. and it goes... i dial it down and make it out of the no wake zone.. and give full throttle.. (using the choke)
and she goes... and wow.. this boat is pretty quick..
i make a couple 200-300 yard runs at full throttle..
still needing to choke it to accelerate. on the way back it was running A LITTLLE better at slow speeds but still not great...

So.. is this something that may work its self out with a little more running?? i had leave so i couldnt drive it around more..

or will i for sure need to rebuild?

No... repair/clean carbs before you blow it up. The main jets are partially clogged and causing engine to run lean(DIE) and holding choke(enrichner) in adds raw fuel to cylinders. Keep running it like this and a engine rebuild will be in your near future ....

OKay so these are probably the simplest carbs ive ever worked with...
I took them off yesterday and they are soaking until the new gaskets get here..
#1 great shape
#2 competely clogged
#3 partially clogged.
#4 partially clogged

honestly i dont know how it even ran
 
Whoa! Before doing all that. back out the idle mixture screws 1/2 turn CCW and see if that cures it.

Usually, that's all it takes.
