Yamaha Saltwater OX66 250 Alarming Hot

Port motor alarms as if it is overheating when you crank the motor. When motor is in idle the alarm will sound. If you rev up the motor the alarm will silence. Any ideas on what may be causing this?

The motor is squirting water from the side so I know the water pump is working.

Start by disconnecting the engine main harness plug and all the small plugs on the engine where they enter the cowling and checking them for corrosion. Sounds like you have a voltage leak.
