Update ....Tilt & Trim not working

Motor is about 3in from all the way up. When attempt to lower the electric motor runs only . Either up or down there is no movement. Checked the fluid and was full. I figured that engine should be in the full up to service so I tried to lift the motor up but could not unlock .Had the weight of the motor on a come a long still could not unlock. Shouldn't I hear some type of hydraulics sound ? I'm thinking that the electric pump shaft is broken and the motor runs but is not pumping fluid . Is it safe to remove the electric motor while the engine is not up and locked. Also to unlock engine does it have to be either full up or down ? This is on a 2005 150 HPFI Appreciate some help on this. Thanks, Bob
 
Your motor has an air lock in it. you need to open the manul release and let the engine all the way down. then try to trim it up. opening that release which is located on eith the port or starboard trim bracket (cant remember which) will force out the air. after you trim it back up check the fluid level again.
 
The problem gets bigger. The manual release will not release . Raised the engine with a come- a- long .Locked the engine down . Serviced the unit with oil. Took a lot of oil and a lot of air burped out . But still the motor runs but no movement. I guess I have to release the lock screw . I now have the Tilt and Trim Package out on the work bench. The release screw is frozen and will not turn. Soaking with Baster now. Thanks for your passed help. Any Idea how to get at and release the lock ? Thanks' , Bob

I soaked it for over 24 hours and no luck. It is now at a local Yamaha shop,. They will use heat ,drill or a large hammer to get it out I guess and new parts.
O well part of owner a boat.
