Unused Wires 2002 Honda 90? Black/ Yellow?

So there I was replacing a PITA navigation light and after several hours realized the switch was bad and I noticed that under the dash there is a black/yellow wire with a connector on the end just hanging there. I also noticed a few weeks ago that there were maybe 3 bananna type plugs near the throttle control not plugged into anything either. Everything seems to work fine, and the Black/Yellow looks to go up to the gauges, so before i spend a ton of time, can you tell me if any of this is normal. One thing I dont have is that when I turn my key my two lights do not go on, and i Never hear a beep, so maybe this is why. Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure about Hondas but in the rest of the world back/yellow is the wire the gets grounded to shut off the motor. Apparently your switch cuts the motor off OK as you didn't mention it so I would suspect it goes to your emergency kill switch right next to it.

The black/yellow is switched 12v. Depending on how your helm is wired, there may be one or two extra of these hanging around. Normally, there should be a rubber plug in the end of the connector for insulating purposes. It is going to your gauges so they get 12v when you turn the key to on.

When you turn the key to on, the 90 HP (carburated version) lights and warning horn do not come on. The green light should come on once you start your motor (indicated good oil pressure).

I am not sure about your throttle control. If it is a Honda brand, it normally have a three wire connector for the power tilt and trim. Some controls have an extra two wires (which you do not use with a Honda Motor) for neutral safety. Sometimes, the cable that connects to the three wire connector has a could of extra wires in the cable (that normally are not used).

Generally, if it has a black covering or plug, it is spare.
