"Ive got a 96 johnson faststrike, rebiult about a year ago that has excessive smoking shortly after i had it rebuilt. has fouled plugs after four or five trips to the lake, other than that runs pretty good. what should i look for or do to decrease this smoking and fouling of plugs? thanks [email protected]."

" Tried to send an e-mail, but wouldn't go through. My first step would be to have an oil consumption and a fuel vacuum test performed on this motor. Any Johnson/Evinrude mechanic can perform this test. A fuel restriction will cause the VRO pump to induce extra oil into the system, and also the VRO itself could be bad. "
