Crusader heating

" have 99 tiara 35 open with 454mpi ,starboard engine runs at 200 degrees at idle, cools down above 1200rpm , impeller thermostat radiator cap belts have been changed .exaust flow is same as port engine Iv'e been told that these engines can get an upper block air lock that cause's this, any one know how to remove this? "

" Is this engine FWC? If so open the ends of the heat exchangerand see if the "honeycomb is clogged. If so rod it out. Probably a #10, .19"rod will do it. "

"The are a few causes for idle

"The are a few causes for idle overheating:

1 - If youve changed your coolant or replaced any of the freshwater hoses and you think you have an airlock (by the way it would overheat at all rpms) then drain out about half and this time start the engine and fill it while its running.

2 - I know that the exhaust flow looks the same, but if your risers are semi-clogged it will cause the same problem. When the engine is running see if you could feel which riser is getting hotter.

3 - Check oil cooler for obstruction of seaweed or corrosion.

4 - Visually inspect inside of exhaust hoses by the risers. Sometimes they look perfect from the outside, but a layer of hose will be separated on the inside.

5 - Check timing and fuel/air mixture
