"I was taking my 40' Silve
"I was taking my 40' Silverton out to the Bay when the starboard engine quit running. I attempted to restart with no luck. Actually burned up the starter in the process. I have replaced the started, coil, points, condenser, rotor, and cap. I still do not get any spark. When placing the coil wire to ground while turning over the engine, I get no spark from the coil wire. In the ign on position, I do get a 12 volt reading. With the cap off, I do see some spark between the points when I open and close them with a screwdriver, but not when I just try to start the engine with the cap off.
Any help would be appreciated. Would the resistor cause these problems. I haven't messed with it yet. The bracket is so rusted, that it will break off if a mess with it to much. LOL!!
Thanks,"
