tilt trim motor only runs for

tilt trim motor only runs for a few seconds and then stops(basically runs from top to bottom and then its dead for 3 minutes). also dosent want to work when at high speed.

"If it does it in both directions, I would suspect a bad motor, or bad connection. I would start with getting it to fail, disconnect the plug on the cable from the motor to the control box, and see if you still have 12 volts when the switch is pushed. If so, I would connect 12v directly to the motor, and operate it a few times and see if it fails again. If so, you have pretty much confirmed that it is the motor."

I just rebuilt mine and when it is off the boat it is very easy to take apart and fix.REMOVE two screws and pull top off top slowly.The brushes will come out there you will see bimetel assermble.To get it bact together you take the windings out and install brushes and stater together and put it back together as one part.It isnt very hard ."
