Have an old '67 9.5hp John
Have an old '67 9.5hp Johnson. The low idle needle is badly grooved and a new one is $85. Has anybody ever tried to fill the grooves with hard solder or something and spin it down smooth? Thought it would be harder then electrical solder and should stick well to the brass. I don't think that JB Weld would work. So anybody ever try or have another suggestion?
