" I just bought a new set of internal and external wiring harnesses for my 1977 50 hp Merc. The replacement parts do not have the outer rubber/plastic protective cover that the old cables have - not the electrical insulation, but an outer cover.
Can I use shrink wrap to cover the battery leads? I think I can find 1" shrink wrap in 3-ft lengths that would serve the purpose. Or should I use the automotive plastic spiral wire protector?
Are there any particular wires that I should not bundle together with shrink wrap or nylon zip-ties?
