I have a 1973 omc 120hp. Yeste

I have a 1973 omc 120hp. Yesterday the starter was leaking water where the starter bolts to the bell housing. Any Ideas???????thanks
 
was the water warm? there is a

was the water warm? there is a freeze plug at the rear of the block. ahead of flywheel.
 
I just started it in the drive

I just started it in the driveway. It took about 8-10 minutes to leak again and the water felt a little warmer than the garden hose.
 
probably the freeze plug. you&

probably the freeze plug. you'll have to pull the engine to fix. the only other thing I can think wuld put water in the bell housing would be an exhaust leak in the intermediate. not likely.
