15hp 2stroke clogged exhaust

"Matt, you may be able to get at it by dropping the lower unit and working up in a very restricted space with minimal results at best.

BUT

The best way to get at it and clean it up would be remove the power head which would then allow you to remove the exhaust plate/tube.

These can get severely carboned up/restriced to way below their normal diameter (somewhere around 1 1/4" I believe).

Once cleaned out (or replaced if it's really bad) you should notice a considerable performance increase.

If you do access it by removing the powerhead, make sure you spend the couple of bucks for replacement gaskets - powerhead and exhaust plate - you can rarely save them and for the price, not worth trying to resuse them..."
