Default Can someone tell me the differ

Can someone tell me the difference between gasoline purchased for my car and that purchased at a costal marina. I just had a bent valve after 3.7hrs on a remanufactured 350 GM engine. After removal the builder claimed the damage was caused by "purple" gas. He claims the tolerances he built to are too tight to use this gas. Anyone heard of this?

Ya, they dye our gas up here if there is "no road tax paid" (like they dye the diesel green and call it home heating fuel) - supposed to make it cheaper at dockside (ya right) [img][/img]"

Out in Alberta its farm gas and as Graham said its supposed to be tax free. Its merely a dye in it and the quality (or lack thereof) should be identical to regular fuel. Therefore I would call Bull on the first post that it contributed to the engine failure.
