"Good Morning all, I bought an 82 4 winns a month ago
Mercruiser 120 and I believe type 1 stern drive; I have a little gear oil leaking out of a "hole" opposite from the oil drain hole on the bottom fin of the lower case unit. It looks to be a machined hole for drainage? I did already purchase the manual(ordered the day I purchased boat)But nowhere in the documentation is it showing this hole and where it leads. It is definately gear oil not pouring out just about 2 ounces in 2 weeks. Just looking for a push in the right direction; not sure what gasket kit/rebuild kit will take care of it. lower unit looks a bit beat up but it performed well when I test drove it before purchase; just a slowly leaking lower unit.
