Yamaha 70hp idles great misses on acceleration

"I have a 1986 70 hp outboard.

"I have a 1986 70 hp outboard. it idels great but when you apply throttle, it starts missing bad. I've checked the carbs and they look great. I've gone thru the service manual and have determined it's either the Pulser coil or the CDI box. Has anyone else ever seen this before and am I on the right track??

I found the problem last nite.

I found the problem last nite. I have a bad temp sensor. I unplugged the probe and the engine runs fine. Plugged it back in and the engine misses. According to the service manual the system is designed to cut out cylinder 2 upon over heating. slows teh rpm and lets the engine cool off. Exactly what mine did.
