Speedometer pickup tube

"I can't find the pitot tu

"I can't find the pitot tube for my speedometer. I do see a tube running down to the lower unit on my Honda BF150, with two small pilot holes in the hub in front of the prop. Could this be the pickup?"

The pickup for the speedo is a

The pickup for the speedo is a small hole on the leading edge of the lower unit. There is a coupler in about the mid-section of the engine (it is clearly visible). Disconnect the hose here and blow air into it towards the lower unit (not towards the speedo.

That was the problem.

"Dude:
That was the problem. I had wood debris in the hole from a submerged tree. I used a small fish hook to clean it out, then blew back toward the lower unit to make sure it was out.
It's working fine now."
