1992 Merc 4cyl 40 hp has an oil drip out of the prop hub.
Noticed some water but I think it may have been left in lower end from last use.
Didn't see anything leak until I lowered the engine.

"Joe, the exhaust mixes with the water and exits the prop hub. It's common to have some oily residue drip from that area. Smell it, if it smells like sulfer or rotton eggs then get the lower unit pressure tested, if not have the wife clean the floor."
 
This engine had a stator probl

This engine had a stator problem which caused it to run on only two of the 4 cyl. It was run this way twice.
The Oil/water leak I spoke of does not look milky or foamy. It looks like a few drops of oil in a puddle of water (separated).
Is it possible this leak could be the result of unburned fuel from cyl. 3 & 4 not firing due to the stator failure?

"yes, extented trolling, slow speeds or misfires would put oil in the prop hub. Add some seafoam to the fuel mixture or a can of decarbonizer."
