" I have a Suzuki DT16HP, great motor for what I use it for and has done little work. I have only used it in fresh water.
The only problem I have been having is that it takes great effort to start it. Even when it has been running for quite some time and we pull up and stop for a few hours it takes ages before it will start. The only way I seem to get it to start is to spray aero start in the carby then it fires immediately. I have had it serviced by a very reputable company and they did a good job but the problem hasn't gone away.
Without the aero start I could be in trouble and dont want to rely on this, can anyone help or suggest what it might be. "

The following answer is coming from a novice. However, I had this problem on a chain saw. It turned up to be the rubber diaphragm in the fuel pump, that had become hard from age. It had trouble to do its work, when cranking slowly (like when starting), but worked when running.
