I have a 1950-51 Lyman that has the original engine. It's a six-cylinder Chrysler l-head with two carbs; the Serial number on the plate is R 2895S (the R is way to the left on the plate). There may be a model number, but that part of the plate is covered by a bracket.
I'm hoping one of you can tell me the model name and number, horsepower and weight of the engine (it has to come out for hull repairs). It was running when put away 20 yrs. ago, but I hope to rebuild it while it's out.
