I have a 3.7L 470 I/O that is

I have a 3.7L 470 I/O that is overheating. I have ordered a new impeller for the sterndrive to replace this week. Would it be to my advantage to convert this to an open system. Can this be done and how hard is it to do? I checked the heat exchanger and it looks like new inside ( no blockage ) If the impeller in the lower unit is OK then I guess I should check the water pump impeller? Thanks for your suggestions

HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WAS A RET

HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WAS A RETURN HOSE TO THE OUTDRIVE THAT HAD A LOOSE CLAMP AND AT HIGH RPMS I WOULD LOOSE FLUID AND OVERHEAT
